Self Portrait, work in progress, 2010 -


In this performative self portrait series I'm demonstrating competency in various Eriksonian stages of development through a systematic replication of childhood aggressive, exhibitionist, and play adventures. Through Huck Finn like play sessions the series functions as an introspective exploration of intellectual, emotional, and physical maturation. The images depict symbolic performative acts; in one I’m hiding under a pillow fort that cradles me in an artificial womblike enclosure, in others I'm lounging/balancing/jumping/climbing demonstrating various other competencies.
